Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten & Beyond

Where Learning Becomes an Adventure

Welcome to the Wonderland Pre-K3 Program—where your child’s natural curiosity is transformed into a love of learning. Our Pre-K3 Program serves children ages 30 months through 5 years, providing a bridge between play-based early learning and the more structured environment of elementary school.

These are magical years. Your child is becoming more independent, asking endless questions, developing friendships, and discovering their unique personality and interests. They’re ready for new challenges and excited to learn. Our Pre-K3 Program harnesses this natural enthusiasm and channels it into meaningful learning experiences that prepare them not just for kindergarten, but for a lifetime of success.

Our Philosophy: Play-Based Learning with Academic Purpose

We believe that the best learning happens through play. When children are engaged, curious, and having fun, their brains are primed for learning. That’s why our Pre-K3 Program balances joyful, play-based experiences with intentional, developmentally appropriate academic instruction.

What does this look like in practice? Children learn letters and sounds through alphabet songs and letter hunts. They develop math skills through counting games and building with blocks. They explore science concepts through hands-on experiments and nature exploration. They build social skills through cooperative games and group projects. Learning feels like play because, in many ways, it is—but it’s purposeful play designed to support your child’s development and prepare them for kindergarten.

This approach is backed by decades of research showing that children learn best when they’re engaged, when learning is connected to their interests, and when they have opportunities to explore and discover. We’re not drilling facts or pushing academics at the expense of childhood joy. We’re creating an environment where learning is natural, exciting, and deeply connected to your child’s life and interests.

Our Pre-K Classroom Environment

We’ve designed our Pre-K3 Classroom to be a vibrant, stimulating space that invites exploration, encourages creativity, and supports learning across multiple domains.

Learning Centers. Our classroom is organized into learning centers, each designed to support different types of learning. The literacy center features books, writing materials, and letter activities. The math center includes manipulatives, counting games, and measurement activities. The science center offers opportunities for exploration and discovery. The art center invites creativity and self-expression. The dramatic play area allows children to act out scenarios and develop social skills.

Classroom Library. Books are central to our classroom. We have a diverse, engaging collection of picture books, early readers, and reference books. Children have daily opportunities to explore books independently and to enjoy read-alouds as a group.

Display of Children’s Work. Our walls are covered with children’s artwork, writing samples, and documentation of their learning. This celebrates children’s creativity and progress while reinforcing that their work is valued.

Flexible Seating & Spaces. We have a variety of seating options—tables for group work, floor space for carpet time, comfortable reading nooks, and open areas for movement and play. This allows us to support different learning styles and activities.

Natural Light & Calming Colors. Our classroom features natural light and calming colors that create a welcoming, peaceful environment conducive to learning and growth.

Outdoor Learning Space. Weather permitting, we spend significant time outdoors. Our outdoor area includes opportunities for gross motor play, nature exploration, and learning in natural settings.

Preparing for Kindergarten

One of our primary goals is to prepare your child for kindergarten success. We intentionally develop the skills and habits that will support your child’s transition to elementary school:

Academic Skills.
We develop foundational literacy and math skills that will support your child’s learning in kindergarten and beyond.

Social-Emotional Skills.
We help children develop the ability to manage emotions, follow directions, work cooperatively, and resolve conflicts—all essential for classroom success.

Independence & Self-Care.
We encourage independence in areas like using the bathroom, washing hands, managing belongings, and caring for the classroom.

Following Routines & Transitions.
We practice following routines and transitions, which are a big part of kindergarten.

Listening & Attention.
We help children develop the ability to listen, follow multi-step directions, and focus on tasks.

Communication Skills.
We encourage children to express themselves, ask questions, and communicate their needs and ideas.

Classroom Behavior.
We teach and practice the behaviors that support a positive classroom environment, like raising your hand, waiting your turn, and using kind words.

Love of Learning.
Most importantly, we foster a genuine love of learning and curiosity about the world. Children who love learning are more likely to thrive in school.
